Why Your Welcome Matters

Every Sunday, someone steps through our doors for the first time. They might be seeking hope, carrying hurts, or simply following a trusted friend's invitation. Whatever brings them here, we want them to feel seen, valued, and genuinely welcomed.

Your smile, handshake, or helpful directions become part of God's invitation to forgiveness, freedom, and flourishing in Jesus Christ.

Three Ways to Serve

Our new Welcome Team operates through three rotating roles designed to meet people wherever they are:

Door Greeters

Be the first friendly face visitors encounter. You'll create that crucial first impression, opening doors and hearts with equal warmth at our Main or Student lobbies.

Lobby Greeters

Serve as our floating helpers—guiding families to First Free Kids Check-In, answering questions, pointing people to the Cafe, or simply noticing someone standing alone. You'll turn confusion into comfort and isolation into connection.

Welcome Desk Attendants

Staff our central hub, processing Connect Cards, distributing newcomer gifts, and helping people discover their next steps in faith and community. Perfect for naturally helpful people who love connecting others.

When We Gather

Our primary focus is Sunday's Worship Hour (10:45 AM). This is when we see our highest attendance and greatest impact potential.

Many team members also serve during Sunday School Hour (9:30 AM), catching early arrivals looking for classes, groups, or just good coffee. Whether you choose one or both services, you're shaping someone's first experience of Christian community.

How It Works

Flexible Scheduling: Choose your commitment level: serve weekly, monthly (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Sundays), or as an occasional fill-in.

Complete Onboarding: Every team member receives a Welcome Team shirt and pin, video training from Pastor Kevin, clear role descriptions, and a schedule.

Meaningful Impact: We need 10-12 core volunteers to anchor this ministry, but there's room for many more. Even monthly service can profoundly impact someone's spiritual journey.

Who We're Seeking

You don't need to be naturally outgoing or have all the answers. We're looking for people who:

• Love Jesus and genuinely care about people
• Show up consistently with warmth and reliability
• Want to help others feel noticed and valued
• Understand that small acts of welcome can have eternal significance
